Promethean use at Workstations
Like many of you, I have loaded the Promethean board software on the student workstations. The students are creating flipcharts to show me what they are learning. The really love it. They have learned how to save as well as how to retrieve their flipcharts. They also use the library often to choose backgrounds and insert pictures.

Using the web to investigate data
During our weather unit, the students kept a daily weather log. Each day they would visit www.weather.com and record various aspect of weather including temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed and direction, etc. in their hometown of Sylvania. Students were also given the opportunity to view the weather in other areas of their choice. At the end of the unit, students were given the assignment of creating a online graph to dipict the weather observations they had recorded.

Great Game to Review Time
Stop the Clock is a click and drag game where students try to attain the best time score by matching digital times to analog clocks. Great review and a good way to see who needs extra review.

Microsoft Excel for Graphs
My students surveyed all the fourth grade classes to find out their favorite type of music and sport. They then went into Excel and created Bar Graphs with different colored bars and fill effects. They really got into making the graphs and did much better than I ever imagined. I was nervous about trying to teach the students how to use Excel because I did not know if they would be able to do it without much help, but they did fine.
